Simply, Reiki means the Universal life force energy that flows through all life, through you, me, our beloved pets and animals, plants; through everything.  Without the Reiki energy there would be no life; I would call it our core energy.

However, this Reiki life force energy gets influenced by the environment, physical and emotional trauma, and other factors such as diet and toxicity etc. which can interfere with its flow.

Imagine every cell in your body vibrating with energy.  The Reiki energy stimulates cells to vibrate at certain frequencies which is basically information.  When this energy becomes affected by interference it influences the vibration or energy of your cells and can reduce their performance, which may eventually lead to dis-ease.

When you feed your body, at the vibrational level, all food is information (frequencies) for cellular function.  Everything is vibrating  whether it is chemical, emotional, mental, physical and at the highest vibrations, spiritual.

The Reiki energy or the Universal life force energy is channelled by the Reiki Practitioner to the recipient.  They have received a special attunement that has opened the main channel in their energetic body called the hara - they do not use their own energy.  The Reiki energy travels through all of the different energy systems, through the meridians to the main chakras in the palms of the hands.  As the Reiki healing energy is channelled, it replenishes the energy in and around the recipient's body, thus stimulating the energy of the person or animal at the cellular level and restoring the vibration and performance of the cells.

I read in a newspaper that Stanford University in the 70's did research on Reiki for soft tissue injury.  The normal time to heal from a cut - which was the control group was 10-12 days.  A group that was given false Reiki took 14-16 days to heal and the Reiki group only took 3-4 days!

The swelling in the left photo is from an allergic reaction.  The swelling had come down 50% after an hour of Reiki!
